Hello my dear! I’m Heidi, and I’m guessing you’d like to know a little about me.
Well, I’m happy to share… but first, I’d like to tell you a little about Values-Based Business Coaching.
The Philosophy Behind Values-Based Business Coaching;
I have this theory about why so many of us end up burnt out after years of work. It’s not because we’re lazy (quite the opposite actually), or because we just aren’t cut out for our jobs (if anything, we’re too good). Rather, it’s because we’ve been taught to pretend that there are clear and separate boundaries between Work and Life.
We aren’t supposed to let our personal lives affect our work, and if we don’t leave work at work, we won’t be able to have a life.
So we try to be two separate people; as if there were “Work Life You” and “Personal Life You”, two different people to switch between. As simple as changing clothes, right?
Except that, unlike clothing, you can’t really switch cleanly between the two; traces of “Work Life You” will bleed into your personal life. And despite your best efforts, “Personal Life You” has a way of showing up in your work life.
This is a problem, but it isn’t the problem you’ve been led to believe. You see, you’ve been told you need to learn how to ‘balance’ Work and Life. It’s very likely you’ve tried… but the harder you try, the more pressure you feel. Which makes you feel like a complete and utter failure. After all, other people have figured this out, why can’t you?
The truth, my dear, is that you’re trying to solve the wrong problem.
The trick is that it isn’t about trying to balance Work and Life; rather, you want to integrate them!
When you try to create balance, you put yourself in the middle of a juggling act. A juggling act at the top of a tight-rope wire. This requires constant, careful attention… and if your attention slips, even for a moment, the balls will drop and balance is lost. (Oh no! I sure hope there’s a net…)
However, when you integrate Work and Life, you create a foundation which supports you in all your efforts. Your Work supports your Life, your Life gives you the energy to do your Work. And if you need a moment to place your attention elsewhere? No worries darlin’, there are no balls to drop, there is no wire to fall from… there is only you, and the support you need.
And that’s what Values-Based Business Coaching is all about:
- Regaining control of both Life and Work,
- Creating the foundation to support both, and
- Integrating the various facets of your life into one beautiful whole!
So who am I, and how can I help?
As the daughter of self-employed parents, and later as the manager of a small bead store, I witnessed first hand the difficulties that come hand-in-hand with working for oneself. Along the way, I accidentally became a bookkeeper with a small business of my own, and while it wasn’t my favorite way to make money, I did learn a lot about what it takes to keep a business running. I also learned how incredibly satisfying it is to help my clients build flourishing businesses around the things they are passionate about.
In another life, I might be a therapist; I am fascinated by psychology, by the reasons why we do the things we do. I find my interest in psychology incredibly helpful in my coaching, as it gives me unique insight into the underlying challenges facing my clients. It also helps me understand what is driving you, and how to use that to get you from where you are, to where you want to be, in a way that works for you.
Whether it’s helping you find clarity, discovering the underlying issue that has kept you from moving forward, or finding the secret to keeping you motivated, we’ll work together to get you un-stuck and rocking your business!
My own passion is helping creative women grab life by the horns and build a business that supports their life and their dreams; a perfect day is one in which I help a client work through a challenging situation, learn something new, and have fun in the process! I believe firmly in the importance of enjoying what you do, and doing what you enjoy.
Just because this is business, doesn’t mean we can’t have a bit of fun!

My Temperament, according to Myers-Briggs, is INFP
Idealistic, loyal to their values and to people who are important to them. Want an external life that is congruent with their values. Curious, quick to see possibilities, can be catalysts for implementing ideas. Seek to understand people and to help them fulfill their potential. Adaptable, flexible, and accepting unless a value is threatened. (source: The Myers & Briggs Foundation)
According to the Enneagram, I’m a 4
Fours are self-aware, sensitive, and reserved. They are emotionally honest, creative, and personal, but can also be moody and self-conscious. Withholding themselves from others due to feeling vulnerable and defective, they can also feel disdainful and exempt from ordinary ways of living. They typically have problems with melancholy, self-indulgence, and self-pity. At their Best: inspired and highly creative, they are able to renew themselves and transform their experiences. My Strengths are; Ideation, Strategic, Learner, Intellection, and Input.
- Ideation: People who are especially talented in the Ideation theme are fascinated by ideas. They are able to find connections between seemingly disparate phenomena.
- Strategic: People who are especially talented in the Strategic theme create alternative ways to proceed. Faced with any given scenario, they can quickly spot the relevant patterns and issues.
- Learner: People who are especially talented in the Learner theme have a great desire to learn and want to continuously improve. In particular, the process of learning, rather than the outcome, excites them.
- Intellection: People who are especially talented in the Intellection theme are characterized by their intellectual activity. They are introspective and appreciate intellectual discussions.
- Input: People who are especially talented in the Input theme have a craving to know more. Often they like to collect and archive all kinds of information.

I’m also a Sagittarius, born in the year of the Goat.
Ok, this one is just for fun… and there are too many sites with too many suggestions on what either of these ‘mean’, so I’ll let you choose your own interpretation
P.S. Did you know I have a Super Power?
Don’t laugh, it’s true. Actually, everyone has a super power. Most of us either just don’t know what it is, or we have a hard time owning it.
So what’s mine? I’ll tell you; I’m crazy empathetic.
No, not empathic. I can’t feel what you’re feeling, in some creepy, magical way. But I do understand what you’re going through; I can see where you’re coming from so well, that I can imagine what you’re feeling.
My super power, my ability to understand you, gives me incredible insight into your situation. It’s not uncommon for me to see things more clearly than my clients. I’m pretty sure this is because I feel where you’re coming from, but I’m not caught up in it the way you are.
I’m told that’s pretty powerful stuff, but I’ll let you decide that for yourself.
